THE CURRENT

I could only see the sun past the overlapping air bubbles.

I couldn't breathe.

I tried to move, but my body wouldn't let me.

The weight was so heavy, it felt like an elephant had stepped on my chest.

I could hear a strange beat in my hears.

I think it's my heart.

It's drifting away and the sun turned off.

I was helpless and forgotten with the waves.
